About West Side Oyster Club

Fifty years of west side seafood culture β€” and we’re still rolling. West Side Oyster Club sits above the Pacific on Ocean Avenue, a stone’s throw from our family restaurant on the Pier, doing what we’ve always done best: honest seafood. WSOC is fast - casual - luxury.

Counter service. Caviar to go.

This is the west side the way we know it β€” the way we grew up here. Paradise, raw, unapologetic. Pull up after a long day in the water. Bring the family. The food is serious. The vibe is easy.

Oysters. Lobster. Caviar. The Classics. On Ocean Ave, from Santa Monica, since before you were born.

So, walk up to the counter. You have to find your table or pick your seats, but overall, food has been fire. The East Coast oysters that we had were the best oysters we've had on this trip. Even the West Coast oysters are pretty fire. It's a little bit on the pricey side. They are market-priced, but they do have deals. They had $1 deals for one of the West Coast oysters, and those are so good. Sandwiches are reasonably priced, but overall, we had a really good time. Definitely try the oysters. It's probably the best in Santa Monica.

What a gem! Visiting from London and couldn’t have felt more welcome. The owner, Greg, is so incredibly friendly and passionate about what he does, which is such a treat to witness. Also hands down the BEST fish tacos I’ve had in LA. Oysters were fresh, champagne was cold, and the whole team here is just gorgeous. Could not recommend more.

We were in town from Arizona and knew we wanted to check this place out. Honestly, can’t say enough about it. We sat at the bar which are the best seats in the place. Spent the evening speaking with the bartender, chef and other people enjoying the restaurant. We got the fried calamari which almost melted in our mouth, the little gem salad which was fresh and delicious, a dozen oysters because who can’t go there and not order any, and the fish tacos. I can’t say one negative thing about any of it. Everyone working there was so nice and happy and the food was fantastic. Really seemed like they have a great team working there and care about the food they are creating. Would definitely recommend this to everyone.

What a wonderful replacement for Blue Plate! Look, we were bummed when Blue Plate closed, and I’ll be honest I came here with trepidation. But WSOC is absolutely stellar. It’s an abbreviated menu - but it has everything you want. Lobster rolls, seafood towers, fish tacos. It all feels very intentional. The staff are friendly - we sent one server to the kitchen three times to answer our annoying questions, and he was more than happy to. The food is EXCELLENT - we demolished a seafood tower, fish and chips and more. Will definitely be back. It’s quick - we were in and out in 30 mins, and trust me we had a bunch of food. It’s a window style ordering system; order at the front and they give you a number to take to your table. I don’t hate it! Excellent for foot traffic. It’s a great value - trust me, the 2 person seafood tower is the best value seafood tower in LA.
